Independent Medical Examinations and Nexus Letters for Military Veterans
We are thrilled to offer high-quality Independent Medical Examinations and Nexus Letters with video visits to veterans.
An Independent Medical Examination (IME) is an objective assessment of your medical conditions, including what treatment you need, whether you have a permanent impairment and to what degree your condition affects you socially and occupationally.
Military veterans who are attempting to become service connected or who are appealing a denial from the VAMC for a psychiatric condition or a traumatic brain injury (TBI) diagnosis may benefit from an IME or nexus letter from a psychiatrist. These reports can be used to document:
2) Secondary Service Connection
3) Disability Rating Increase
Step One
The doctor, a psychiatrist, will review all of the supporting documentation that you provide including your DD 214, in-service medical and personnel records, and post-service treatment records. All records relevant to your case will be highlighted so they can be referenced in your nexus letter.
Step Two
During your evaluation, a full psychiatric diagnostic examination will be completed to determine your psychiatric diagnosis and it’s connection to your military service or current service-connected condition.
Step Three
After your examination, a nexus letter will be drafted and sent to you. You can then add the nexus letter and IME to your VA claim file.
Dr. Allen, a psychiatrist, can evaluate you for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as well as:
You can complete this appointment from the comfort of your home with a video visit. Dr. Allen provides IMEs and Nexus Letters for veterans. Participating in video appointments is easy! Call us today to learn more.
